If you raise birds, bring them. The twelve species meet in the ring — dive, strafe, and the crowd names a winner.
Birds of Catelonia
Twelve shape-shifting species that dive and strafe like fighter planes — and the island event where they compete.
Bird systems
A bird's worth is not a single purchase -- it is genetics, health, training, care, environment, handling and strategy, all at once. Pioneers raise them, breed them, train them, and enter them in daily or seasonal tournaments at the arena; wagering is allowed where the law permits it.
Death has real weight here. A bird that dies is gone from its owner for a genuine recovery period -- rebirth depends on species, lineage, care history, and whichever ritual or technical path is actually available, which is exactly why it never becomes automatic. Birds are not only for the arena, either: they scout routes, survey mines, carry messages, and work farms across every other world.
Institutions
No bird of your own? Take a ticket on who lands. The House of Luck and the arena rail run the same night.
Birds come free in booster packs. Open a pack, the bird is yours to raise, enter, or list.
A losing card still pays a bird. You walk out with something that flies — so a loss is never empty-handed.
Birds can be sold. The stall mixes live birds with prints, packs, and game pieces — not merch in a closet.
